Theological Educator’s Conference 2022: Learning for the Whole of Life

4th – 6th July 2022

 Dear students,

Every year the Common Awards team works with our partners, including your institution and the Theological Educators Network, to hold a conference on theological education. For the last two years we held this conference online and opened up sessions to students. This year the event will be a hybrid conference, and we are pleased be able to open up the online sessions to students. Please note that the on-site sessions will be for staff only.

As well as being able to attend the main conference plenary sessions, there will also be opportunities for you to join in some discussion groups with other students in theological education from institutions across the UK. We would be delighted if you were able to join us this year.

The conference will be held from 4th – 6th July 2022, and bookings will be open until 11th June. The conference is free to attend for all Common Awards students.

Conference theme

The theme of the conference is ‘Learning for the Whole of Life.’ This covers three main ideas:

  • Lifelong learning (i.e., learning for the whole duration of one’s life)
  • Holistic learning (i.e., learning that includes every dimension of one’s life)
  • Community-wide learning (i.e., learning that includes all the members of the church)

We held a preparatory symposium on this theme back in May 2021, and brief videos from that event are available here.

Conference registration

Before booking your place, please note that not all sessions will be available online. Please see the  Conference Timetable 2022 (also attached to this email) for further information on which sessions are available to students.
